The Legacy Project
Life in a Portrait
I have decided to start an Art project titled “The Legacy Project”, a series of portraits of individuals who are terminally ill or near end of life. In this project I will create portraits of individuals who allow me to photograph them and have creative freedom over their portrait. The purpose is to create a portrait of the individual that is not only reflective of them and captures their essence, but is also beautifully unique.
The intention of this project is to engage the viewer in a discussion around the necessary preparation for the end of life, bring awareness to the importance of leaving a piece of yourself behind, and to reduce the stigma surrounding the creation of a death portrait. My goal is to create a series of unique portraits and exhibit these images. And, as a thank you for being involved in the project, you will receive a signed art print of your portrait.
